A new Georgia law began on January 1, 2010 that defined a “Super Speeder” as a driver who has been convicted of either:
Driving 75 miles per hour or more on a two lane road, or
Driving 85 miles per hour or more on any road
By paying the citation online or entering a guilty or nolo plea you receive a conviction of your driving history. Such a conviction will result in an additional $200 fine to be paid to the Georgia Department of Driver Services. You will be given 120 days to pay this additional $200 fine. But failure to pay it on time will result in your driver’s license being suspended. To get your driver’s license reinstated, you will have to pay the $200 fine plus a $50 reinstatement fee. The inadvertent loss of your driver’s license will create a serious financial hardship. So it is very important to hire a traffic attorney experienced in defending these super speeder tickets, preserving driving privileges, and reducing or eliminating the points on your driver’s license and other costly consequences.
